The delegation of the National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna", Kazakhstan and National Company “KazMunayGas” are on a business trip in our country.
The delegation led by of A.Satkaliyev, the Board Chairman of the National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna", Kazakhstan and A.Aydarbayev, the Board Chairman of the National Company “KazMunayGas” arrived in our country within a a business trip of 1-3 July. The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the work on the improvement of the Satti self-elevating floating drilling rig, as well as to discuss the implementation of current joint projects in the field of oil and gas and explore the opportunities for future cooperation.
Within the visit, the delegation held meetings with Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ruslan Alikhanov, CEO of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President, Vagif Aliyev, head of the Investment Department and Farid Akhundov, General Director of the Caspian Drilling Company Limited LLC.
On July 2, the delegation visited the modern marine supply and logistics base of Caspian Drilling Company Limited LLC. At the ceremony attended by SOCAR and BP executives, a wide presentation was made on the modification of the Satti self-elevating floating drilling rig and its operation on the project it is currently involved in to the participants. The delegation got acquainted with the improvement work done in Satti self-elevating floating drilling rig.
It should be noted that according to the memorandum signed between SOCAR and KazMunayGas in January 2019, as well as the contract signed between the Caspian Drilling Company Limited LLC (CDC) and KMG Drilling and Services LLC in February of the same year, Satti self-elevating floating drilling rig, which is mainly owned by the latter, was handed over to the reliable management of the CDC. The improvement of Satti self-elevating floating drilling rig was carried out by CDC with great experience in the construction and improvement of drilling rigs. The improvement of the drilling rig improved its technical and production capacity and provided conditions for safe and efficient drilling of exploration wells with a depth of more than 6 thousand meters. At present, the Satti drilling rig is involved in operations in the shallow water part of the Absheron Peninsula jointly operated by SOCAR and BP. In the future, it is to be used in other operations in the Caspian Sea.
